![]() ![]() My doctor and her nurse said they'd never heard of hundred-fold tick bites. The smaller ones, which comprised almost all of the bites, have 6 legs and the larger ones have 8 legs: I put a few dead ones under a microscope, and they look similar to Lone Star ticks that I see on tick charts. Never encountered a tick before, let alone hundreds. I go once every month or two around the NYC area. I'm curious if anyone has additional advice on how to avoid this nightmare. I've gathered I should apply permethrin to my clothes in the future. I think (hope) I got all of them off and I'll be continuing to check myself. I should have taken a photo but I was laser focused on getting them off me. I used masking tape to get them off or my fingernail if that didn't work. It looked similar to this guy's post mostly on my ankles and calves with a couple larger ones here and there.
